Good morning folks!
Back from the big cities, hope everyone id the southeast are safe! The rest of you as well! :D
Lots of smoke going over but was pretty clear returning, wind change and a little rain (very little) helped clear the air. 14 hours traveling with my #2 daughter is not what I call fun, more like torture, for a 5 hour wedding and reception but is was a nice ceremony and met some nice people! The bride's family is from Alaska so it was a very right leaning gettogeather.   Anyway, had a great time and now back to the real world and my little slice of heaven in the woods!
Have a great day folks! :D :D :D

Good day guys. Nice weather up here, sending a crew to Florida for storm recovery. 1220 miles each way... of course the Freightliners we drive now are a lot better to travel long distance in than the old gas motor GMC Kodiaks and Ford F900s we drove 35-40 years ago.

My brother plans on heading home thursday. He says that he knows (from his neighbors) that he has lost one palm tree and that some soffit and facia was torn off and that the water crested his 4 1/2 foot river front bulkhead but that his house was not flooded.

I am still glad that he left town.

Glad he has comparatively little damage! Glad, too, that he didn't risk life and limb over stuff.

Well, got the truck fixed, and all it cost me was the price of a new tire. My nephew fixed it and didn't charge me a dime! Not even for the part! I asked him half a dozen times what I owed him and he wouldn't take nothing. So, I think I am gonna give him a ammo can full of green tipped 5.56.

Heard from my friends and relatives in Fl. They're all safe and only suffered minor damage. Pleasant weather here but headed for a minor heat wave in a couple of days. Temps s'posed to be in the 90s

Morning all. Dframe, it's good your friends escaped with only minor damage, a lot weren't that fortunate. Makes me think our snow is not that bad.

They were lucky (this time) to be on the east side. As much as I would hate to have to go through a hurricane, I despise snow and cold weather. Here in the forest we also have to deal with falling limbs and power outages, even if we can get the Jeep out of the drive.
