A little hint for the Lee Turret Press user

Postby gunman42782 » Sun Apr 09, 2017 8:50 pm

One of the big complaints I read about on the net from folks who own the Lee Turret Press is that if they use the auto index the little plastic nut will wear out, and it is very true it will. But, I have found if you use a little silicone in the right places the little nut will last for thousands of index's. I take a cleaning patch and spray the silicone on it, then rub the outside of the die holder and the inside of the press where it rides, as well as the little doo hickey that makes it auto index, I rub it all the way up and down with the silicone patch. Since I started doing that I can't remember the last time I had to change the plastic nut. Give it a try.

i use to have the older aluminum LEE 3 hole turret........loaded many around on that thing and never wore a bushing out. I used Hornady Dry Lube.
